"The Story of Early Estes Park" by Enos A. Mills
When Enos first arrived in Estes Park, Colorado, in 1884, it was a mere fledgling town visited by hunters, fishermen, and rough adventurers. He later wrote the stories he heard from the locals who were building the town, collected anecdotes from those who passed through, like Isabella Bird and William S. Cooper. He self-published the book in 1905, and the family has kept it in continuous print ever since.

For this edition, we added stories by Flora J.R.T. Stanley (the wife of F.O. Stanley, who constructed the famous Stanley Hotel) and Esther Burnell Mills of their first days homesteading in Estes Park. Included are early photographs of the valley taken by Enos, along with letters from our archives. This is a must for any newcomer to the area or history buff!
